A safari is not just a trip – it’s an experience you’ll carry for a lifetime. Pricing varies, but with our 30+ years of expertise, we ensure every dollar you spend is matched with unforgettable memories, professional service, and the peace of mind that everything has been carefully handled.

Planning a Safari is an exciting journey in itself, and one of the most important questions travelers often ask is: “How much does a safari cost?” At Tanzania Serengeti Adventure, we believe in complete transparency and fairness when it comes to pricing, so you know exactly what you’re paying for. We’re here to work with your budget and design a safari that fits your expectations – whether it’s a luxurious adventure, corporate retreat, a family holiday, or a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon.

What’s Included in Our Safari Pricing

When you book with us, our prices are full service – meaning there are no hidden surprises. Every safari package clearly lists what is included, and typically covers:

  • Accommodation (lodges, tented camps, or hotels as per your itinerary)
  • All meals while on safari
  • Park fees and conservation fees
  • Domestic flights (if included in your program)
  • Transport in private 4×4 safari vehicles with professional guides
  • Activities listed in your itinerary (such as game drives, cultural visits, or walking safaris)
  • Airport transfers and logistics.

This ensures you have a smooth, worry-free experience from the moment you arrive.

How Safari Pricing Works

Safari costs vary based on a number of factors, and we’re always upfront in explaining them.

  • Per Person vs. Group Pricing: Most costs are per person, but for private group safaris, certain expenses (like vehicle hire) are shared equally among the group.
  • Accommodation Choices: Lodges and camps play the biggest role in pricing. Options range from around USD 150 to USD 1,000+ per person per night, depending on the level of luxury and exclusivity.
  • Mid-Range Reference: On average, we recommend budgeting USD 450–650 per person per day for mid-range properties
  • Availability Matters: Accommodation is subject to availability, especially in high season. Booking early gives you the best options and rates.
  • Seasonality: Safari rates change with the seasons:
    • Low Season (April–May): The most affordable time, with lush green landscapes and fewer crowds.
    • Mid Season (January–March, June, November): Balanced pricing with great wildlife viewing.
    • High Season (July–October, December): Peak pricing due to the famous Great Migration and holiday demand.

Our Pricing Principles

We understand that every traveler is making an investment in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. That’s why we are committed to:

  • Transparency: We break down costs clearly so you know exactly what you are paying for.
  • Fairness: We do not profit from park fees. Instead, we charge a small, fixed admin fee for handling the reservations.
  • Flexibility: Sometimes, rerouting or adjusting the program can actually lower the overall cost, and we’ll always suggest options that make sense for your budget.
  • Personalization: Every safari is tailor-made. Whether you want a luxury lodge, an authentic tented camp, or a mix of both, we adapt to your preferences and budget.
  • Reasonable Guidance: We’ll never push unnecessary upgrades. Instead, we’ll guide you to the best balance of comfort, experience, and value.

Additional Things to Keep in Mind

  • Flights from Home Country: International flights to and from Tanzania are not included, but we’re happy to advise on best routes and airlines. Many airlines such as Air France/Ethiopian/KLM offer a multi-city combo – we recommend checking FlightConnections.com or Google Flights. Most of the longer trips that a land in Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) are cheaper and is connected to more countries directly.
  • Tipping & Personal Expenses: Tips for guides, drinks outside of meal plans, and personal items are not included. We provide tipping guidelines so you’re prepared.
  • Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended for all safaris, though not included in our pricing.
  • Special Offers: From time to time, camps and lodges run discounts (such as stay-4-pay-3 nights). We pass these savings directly to you.

There isn’t a single “best” time – it all depends on what you’d like to experience, your budget, and your travel style. Below is a clear guide to help you choose the right season for your journey:

Dry Season (June–October & December–February)

Mid Season (March & November)

  • A great balance between fewer crowds and reasonable accommodation rates.
  • Weather can be unpredictable with short rains, but safaris remain rewarding.
  • Offers a more relaxed and intimate safari experience compared to peak months.

Green/Wet Season (April & May)

  • The most affordable time to visit, with the lowest accommodation rates.
  • Landscapes are lush, vibrant, and perfect for photography.
  • Parks are peaceful and less crowded.
  • Heavy rains may disrupt some travel plans, so flexibility is key.

At Tanzania Serengeti Adventure, we believe every journey should be as unique as you are. When you plan your adventure with us, you’re not simply booking a safari, you’re creating a personalized experience. We take the time to understand your wishes and preferences, tailoring every detail to match your vision. To inspire you, we also offer a handpicked selection of our safaris and itineraries as a starting point.

Absolutely, Tanzania is considered one of the safest and most welcoming destinations in Africa. Millions of travelers visit every year to experience its wildlife, landscapes, and culture, and the vast majority enjoy trouble-free journeys. Tourist areas such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, and Zanzibar are especially geared toward visitors, with friendly communities and professional hospitality.

That said, as with traveling anywhere in the world, it’s wise to take normal precautions. Keep an eye on your personal belongings in busy places, avoid walking alone late at night in unfamiliar areas, and follow the guidance of your safari guide or hotel staff. On safari, you’ll be in expert hands, our guides are experienced and trained to ensure both your safety and comfort while you explore the wilderness. The wildlife is incredible to witness, but always best admired from a safe distance, and our team is there to make sure those encounters are unforgettable and secure.

What truly sets Tanzania apart is its warmth. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the genuine hospitality of its people; welcoming smiles, eager conversations, and a deep pride in sharing their culture and country with visitors. So yes, you can travel with confidence. Tanzania is not only safe but also a place where you’ll feel genuinely at home while experiencing the adventure of a lifetime.

Together, we’ll design an itinerary that feels truly yours. Whether it’s witnessing the Great Migration, relaxing on Zanzibar’s beaches, or connecting with local cultures, every detail is carefully planned so your adventure is both seamless and meaningful. We’re also honest – safaris aren’t always perfect. There might be bumpy roads, dust, or the occasional delay, but that’s part of being in the wild. What we promise is that our team will always be there to support you, ensuring the highest level of comfort, safety, and care. And if you’re unsure where to start, we’ve curated some of our most loved safaris to inspire you—trips that can be adjusted and refined until they perfectly match your vision.

With us, you’re not just a guest – you’re part of the journey. Welcome to Tanzania, and welcome to the adventure of a lifetime.
